Mind your step

Antonia Ruanova

During the day we take many steps, we pass through several places and very rarely we are aware of where we are setting our foot. We don't usually observe the ground while walking, and we could be missing out on the works of art that are on the floor. When going to an ancient basilica or church, we look up, to the front and to the sides, we may occasionally see the floor, but do you really see it? Or, you do not stop to see its details, patterns and singularities? We forget that it is a whole and each part creates a wonderful work of art. Similarly, when entering a house, you usually step on something, a rug. This rug on which we clean our shoes, and don't give it a second thought, can say a lot about a person or a family, but we ignore it and barely recognize its existence.
